Mountain Chapel Memorial Garden

After its closure in 1999 and enforced demolition the footprint area of the chapel was made into a Memorial Garden by the developers.

Flowerbeds planted on site of porch

The original metal gate in position on the A477

The front gate was blocked off as it was deemed too dangerous to exit straight onto the A477

A new gateway was made in the side hedge on the Stoney Road and the metal gate resited

Area inside the walls quickly became covered in grass and overgrown.  Building work commenced on property adjoining the old vestry.   This was between the summer and October 2003.

Spring 2004 - house at read almost finished

After a few years it was then decided to create a new Memorial Garden in the footprint of the old building, partly funded by PLANED, with paths taking the shape of a cross and with planters and plants funded by relatives' donations.
To raise further funds quiz sheets were sold and a Coffee Morning was held by the History Society in April 2006.

March 2006, work begins on the new layout
